At the Shanghai Motor Show, Peugeot launches 508 model set for the Chinese market and a new crossover concept called SXC (Shanghai Cross Concept), 100% Chinese design with hybrid propulsion (petrol – electric).
Peugeot unveiled today more details and photos with the new concept car that it will present at Shanghai Motor Show 2011. Peugeot SXC is a modern crossover, athletic, strong and elegant by the manufacturer reaffirms its international ambitions, refining their skills to adapt to the specific expectations of each market.
In 2010, Peugeot unveiled its language evolving design through numerous concepts: SR1 (grand tour roadster), BB1 (city vehicle, 2.50 meters long, for four people), EX1 (2-seat roadster, 100% electric, which broke records for the acceleration in France and China), HR1 (city- car, innovative and ultra-connected). At the Shanghai Motor Show 2011 Peugeot stylists bring to public attention another category (crossover), which is becoming more popular in China. Peugeot SXC (Shanghai Cross Concept) is a new theme: the concept adopted certain features of the World of SUV’s (power, high position in the run, protection, etc.) without caricaturing them, inspired by modern style, elegant and refined, closer to the world upper saloon.
Peugeot SXC concept was created by international design team in China Tech Center , Shanghai. As a result, Peugeot has managed to implement a vision of easily recognizable style that is adaptable to different vehicle types, and different expectations of the market.
Peugeot SXC has a strong character, while expressing his style and performance, without being ostentatious, with both simple and refined lines, elegant and fluid. Every detail is carved precisely on a body with impressive dimensions (length 4870 mm, 2035 mm wide and 1610 mm height).
Peugeot SXC theme grid “floating”, which seems to be independent from the body, fits harmoniously with his stature. Feline headlights are precise and refined, brand emblem illuminated with LED light, THE lion, dominates the front of the hood. This signature is repeated on the rear lamps, in the shape of a boomerang. Other high-tech details were carefully studied in the same way that the side mirrors were replaced with video cameras. Bars on the roof with a very original design, the margins of glass surfaces and other components are made of aluminum, subtly amplifying the exclusive nature of the vehicle.
Generously dimensioned wheels (22 inch) suggesting refinement and power design, contributing to the overall balance of the vehicle. The cabin, with panoramic roof of two parts and sliding doors for easy access, promises a vast space for the 4 passengers who will benefit from special attention.
Hybrid drive
Peugeot has opted for hybrid technology HYbrid4 to move this prototype, with a heat engine of 1.6 THP 218 hp at the front and an electric motor of 95 hp at the rear, and all-wheel drive is achieved when both engines running at the same time in solidarity. In addition, it can run on 100% electric mode at low speeds. In total, develops a maximum power of 313 hp, with an average consumption of 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 143 g / km.
